These brown butter apple bars are soft and chewy packed with tons of flavor. The brown butter with the cinnamon apples its the perfect dessert to make after going apple picking.
INGREDIENTS

How do you even make brown butter?
Brown the butter, place the butter into a large saucepan and place over medium heat. The butter will start to melt then eventually start to form,
After a few minutes your butter will change into a golden amber color. Once you notice the color change and the nutty aroma, remove from heat.
Transfer into medium bowl to prevent the butter from burning. Then Boom there you have it, Magical in a bowl.
Helpful tip
- Make sure to not over bake the bars, if so the results will be more dry and crumbly. We do not want that.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper, or aluminum foil and lightly grease.
- Brown the butter, place the butter into a large saucepan and place over medium heat. The butter will start to melt then eventually start to form, After a few minutes your butter will change into a golden amber color. Once you notice the color change and the nutty aroma, remove from heat. Transfer into medium bowl to prevent the butter from burning. Set aside to let cool or until cool to touch
- Peel and dice two apples, in a saucepan add the 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter with apples. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg to the cook apples until it has slightly softened but not lost their shape. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the brown butter and sugar.
- Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the flour and salt, make sure there is no flour clumps.
- Fold in the cook apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 25- 28 minutes or until the top looks set. Also could insert a toothpick to make sure it comes out clean.
