Brown Butter Apple Bars

These apple bars are heavenly, to the cinnamon apples inside the bar and the nutty aroma from the brown butter. You have to give these a try! Plus its super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melts into brown butter
  • cups light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ nutmeg
  • 2 apples 2 medium peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Step One,
    Preheat oven to 350°F degrees. Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper, or aluminum foil and lightly grease.
  • Step Two,
    Brown the butter, place the butter into a large saucepan and place over medium heat. The butter will start to melt then eventually start to form,
    After a few minutes your butter will change into a golden amber color. Once you notice the color change and the nutty aroma, remove from heat.
    Transfer into medium bowl to prevent the butter from burning. Set aside to let cool or until cool to touch
  • Step Three,
    Peel and dice two apples, in a saucepan add the 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter with apples.
    Add the cinnamon and nutmeg to the cook apples until it has slightly softened but not lost their shape. Set aside.
  • Step Three,
    In a large bowl, whisk together the brown butter and sugar.
  • Step Four,
    Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Step Five,
    Stir in the flour and salt, make sure there is no flour clumps.
  • Step Six,
    Fold in the cook apples.
  • Step Seven,
    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top.
  • Step Eight,
    Bake for 25- 28 minutes or until the top looks set. Also could insert a toothpick to make sure it comes out clean.
